STEM Racing UK National Finals 2026
The national stage of the competition, this year’s event will see over 200 teams compete to become the UK Champions. Join us March 24th-26th 2026 at Magna Science Adventure Centre to see all the action in person.
The STEM Racing UK National Finals 2026 will see the top teams from across the nation compete for a place on the podium, and a chance to be crowned our National Champions! ​The event is the culmination of an extensive series of regional finals, which take place across England, Scotland and Wales from November 2025 to February 2026.
Held at the fantastic Magna Science Adventure Centre in Rotherham, this famous former steelworks will make for a spectacular backdrop to the event. Now converted into an interactive educational space with over 100 hands-on science and technology exhibits, the competition will be a celebration of STEM education both on and off the track.
What’s in store?
Hosted by F1TV presenter, Tom Deacon, the event is the perfect opportunity to see STEM Racing UK in action and experience the electric atmosphere of our largest event of the year! The competition will see:
Racing: Students race their cars down a 20-metre track, competing for the fastest speed.
Verbal Presentations: Speaking to industry professionals, teams present their work in short sessions.
Design & Engineering: Judges provide their expert opinion on students’ design and engineering work.
Project Management: Teams illustrate how they have put project management skills into practice.
Brand Identity: Students create show-stopping pit displays which are sure to impress.

Teams competing in the STEM Racing National Finals 2026 will receive free access to the centre, and we are delighted to be able to offer guests of the event £10 tickets (discounted from walk-in price of £23.95 for adults).
The awards
The awards ceremony is the culmination of all the hard work our teams have invested over the past years - it’s where they are recognised for their outstanding achievements on the track, in their portfolios, presentations, and wider project work.
With each award supported and presented by a STEM Racing partner, this is the moment for teams to shine on stage and celebrate their success. It’s also where we reveal who will be crowned our National Champions, and for secondary students, who will progress to the global stage to compete in the Aramco STEM Racing World Finals 2026.

If you're an industry professional or competition alumni and would like to be part of the STEM Racing UK National Finals, we have the role for you!
As a judge, you will assess teams on one of the five categories (Design & Engineering, Enterprise, Project Management, Brand Identity, Verbal Presentation) below, marking their work according to a detailed and easy-to-use scorecard, before providing them with feedback on what they've done well, and what they could possibly do better.
