Rules & Regulations
The pilar of our competition, our Rules & Regulations tell you everything you need to know to take part in the challenge. These are your one-stop guide for understanding how and where to score points across the different elements of the project.
Primary regulations (9-11)
Starting with our folded card chassis, Primary Class introduces teams to a competition focusing on the basics of aerodynamic design and teamwork.
Entry regulations (11-14)
Introducing the use of resistant materials and the option to use CNC equipment, Entry Class is the perfect first step into STEM Racing Secondary.
Development Class: Technical (11-19)
The next step on from Entry Class, the technical regulations become increasingly advanced - with more rules to follow, engineering skills develop.
Development Class: Competition (11-19)
The Competition element of the programme expands, with increased judging categories which include an Enterprise portfolio and mandatory pit display.
Professional Class: Technical (11-19)
This is the top tier of the UK competition. Here, the technical regulations provide more freedom, but they are also exceptionally detailed and complex.
Professional Class: Competition (11-19)
Whilst the technical regulations take a step up, the competition regulations remain the same as in Development Class.
