OUR PARTNERS
Ceratizit
A high-technology engineering group specialised in cutting tools and hard material solutions.
The Official Tooling Partner of STEM Racing UK, Ceratizit develops and produces industry-leading tools which enable teams to precision manufacture their car bodies and components.
As the Official Tooling Partner of STEM Racing UK, Ceratizit provides competitors with a genuine insight into real-world engineering practices.
Delivering workshops that provide hands-on experience, and supplying advanced tools, technical support, and high-performance materials, Ceratizit is a powerful partner in tackling the UK’s engineering skills shortage.
a Manufacturing Powerhouse
Based in Sheffield, Ceratizit’s Technical Centre is a state-of the-art facility which has opened its doors to student teams from across the region. Set within Europa Advanced Manufacturing Park, the site gives young engineers rare access to real industrial machining facilities, advanced tooling, and hands-on engineering expertise.
The venue also hosts STEM Racing UK events, providing an inspiring environment where students can collaborate, test ideas, and experience high-level engineering in action.
By partnering with STEM Racing UK, Ceratizit is helping nurture the next generation of designers, innovators, and problem-solvers, making industry-level engineering both accessible and exciting for young people.
Tools That Transform
As the Official Tooling Partner of STEM Racing UK, Ceratizit supplies the high-performance cutting tools required for teams to manufacture precision components on CNC machining platforms. Manufacturing is a critical phase of the programme, transforming CAD concepts into track-ready parts through accurate toolpaths, stable fixturing, and controlled machining parameters.
The Ceratizit STEM Racing tooling packages are engineered for compatibility with Denford CNC Turning and Milling machines; providing the carbide end mills, drills, and workholding essentials needed to reliably machine key components.
By using industry-grade tooling, students experience the same technical considerations found in advanced manufacturing - chip load, feed rate optimisation, cutter stability, and material behaviour - allowing them to produce components with accuracy, repeatability, and performance in mind.
“As a global leader in cutting tools, CERATIZIT recognises the critical importance of nurturing the next generation of engineers. STEM Racing UK's internationally acclaimed program perfectly aligns with our commitment to advancing engineering education and sustainability. This partnership reflects our core values of innovation, precision, and developing the next generation of engineers. Through this collaboration, we're not just supporting a competition; we're investing in the future workforce that will drive the sustainable technological breakthroughs of tomorrow.”

engineering the Future, Together
Ceratizit worked closely with the 2025 STEM Racing UK National Champions, SBA Unity Racing from Scarborough UTC, on the development and production of the wheels for their competition car.
Working side-by-side, Ceratizit engineers and the SBA Unity Racing team set out to determine the most effective manufacturing strategy for the team’s highly refined wheel design. This involved evaluating suitable materials, analysing toolpath strategies, and trialling different machining approaches to achieve the required tolerances, surface finish, and mass properties. Over the course of three dedicated days, the combined team iterated through multiple prototypes and process adjustments, demonstrating a shared commitment to engineering rigour and high-precision manufacturing.
Competing at the Aramco STEM Racing World Finals 2025, these talented students went on to secure third place out of 83 teams worldwide - a powerful example of what can be achieved when industry and education collaborate to unlock the potential of the next generation of engineers.
