STEM Racing UK was formed in 1999 with one single aim: to bring engineering education to life. It still does. But today, it does so much more – impacting thousands of UK students every year.
Our impact
Nationwide Reach
Active in England, Scotland, Wales, and Ireland, we’re helping students across the UK turn their passion for motorsport into real skills - creating pathways from education to industry.
Breaking Barriers
From offering scholarships with a leading university to supplying best-in-class software and securing exclusive F1® access, we remove barriers and open doors that transform futures.
Inclusive & Equitable
With 35% female participation and dedicated outreach programmes to underserved communities, we are working to make STEM accessible to all - regardless of location or privilege.
When STEM Racing began in 2000, the goal was simple: bring engineering to life. Today, it has grown into something far bigger - a global movement that creates opportunities, levels playing fields, and enables dreams to become reality.
We provide scholarships to world-leading universities. We secure work placements at phenomenal organisations. We supply every student, everywhere, with free access to industry-leading software.
We break down barriers, reach across geographies, and open doors. STEM Racing makes STEM learning inclusive, accessible, and inspiring - nurturing talent, accelerating futures, and equipping young people with skills that last a lifetime.

part Of A Global Community
From Asia to Africa, Europe to the Middle East, STEM Racing spans continents and cultures. With a presence in more than 60 countries, we are part of a diverse community of educators and learners.
It’s a community where friendships are forged across oceans, ideas are exchanged across time zones, and barriers to learning are broken down every day.
From Classroom to Trackside
Supported by Formula 1, STEM Racing UK offers experiences money can’t buy – paddock access, pit lane walks, garage tours, and direct exposure to the world of motorsport.
These moments are magical and unforgettable. More importantly, they show students that careers in F1 and beyond are not distant dreams, they’re achievable futures.
That realisation sparks ambition. It lights fires. And it propels young people along a pathway already walked by countless STEM Racing alumni who now thrive in motorsport and STEM industries worldwide.
Looking forward
As we look to the future, STEM Racing UK remains focused on breaking new ground. Our mission is clear: to continue opening doors for young people through hands-on STEM learning and real-world industry access.
Expand Our Reach: We aim to grow our presence in new regions across the UK - bringing the competition to difficult-to-reach areas.
Increase Access to STEM for All: This includes scaling our Primary Class and introducing new Centres of Excellence across the nation.
Strengthen University and Industry Pathways: Through new partnerships with universities and motorsport teams, we’ll offer more scholarships and mentorships - ensuring students see where STEM can take them.

Opening Doors
At STEM Racing UK, our mission is to make the programme equitable and accessible to all. We do this through:
Partner organisations: Our Centres of Excellence and Manufacturing Centres enable students across the UK to receive free access to the equipment and machinery needed to compete.
Scholarship opportunities: We work with Aston University to offer a full-fees scholarship to a student every season. This life-changing opportunity enables talented young people to continue their STEM journey into higher education, regardless of financial circumstances.
Low-cost events: We design and deliver events that are intentionally low-cost, enabling wide participation for schools. By keeping fees minimal, we ensure that cost is never a reason for a young person to miss out on hands-on STEM learning or competitive racing experiences.
