University of Warwick centre of Excellence Opening Day

Join us for the opening of our new Centre of Excellence at the University of Warwick on Wednesday 11th November, bringing together students, educators and industry experts to celebrate the debut of this engineering education hub.

The University of Warwick is launching Motorsport Valley’s first STEM Racing Centre of Excellence – a new, open-access engineering space designed to inspire and equip young people with the skills, confidence and experience to shape the future of engineering.

Through hands-on experiences in CAD, CNC machining and aerodynamic testing, alongside expert guidance and mentoring, the Centre will connect students with industry-standard technology and real-world engineering. Powered by Maaden, and delivered in partnership with STEM Racing and Aston Martin Aramco Formula One® Team, it will create exciting new pathways into motorsport, engineering, technology and advanced manufacturing.

Join us as we celebrate the launch and discover how the Centre will help bring engineering to life for the next generation through an afternoon packed with hands-on activities for students.

The event will be hosted at The National Automotive Innovation Centre (NAIC), centred at the heart of the UK’s automotive ecosystem in Coventry, CV4 7AL.

what’s In Store?

Created for students aged 11–18 with a passion for STEM and an interest in competing in STEM Racing, the event will give young people an insight into everything available at our newest Centre of Excellence, as well as what’s in store for the STEM Racing UK 2026/27 season.

  • Hands-On Activities: From testing their reaction times on the STEM Racing track to undertaking CAD and CFD masterclasses, students will discover how STEM principles are transformed into real-world engineering and performance.

  • Industry Insight: Taking a tour of the University of Warwick’s world-class facilities, getting up close to an Aston Martin Formula One® car, and hearing directly from experts at Maaden and Aston Martin Aramco Formula One® Team, students will learn about the people, technology and expertise driving innovation across engineering and motorsport.

  • STEM Racing Journeys: Hearing from STEM Racing alumni about their journeys into industry and the lessons they’ve learned along the way, before discovering what it takes to get a car race-ready through an interactive Scrutineering workshop, students will gain an understanding of everything STEM Racing makes possible.
